November 2021

The 2021-22 Snowy Season has arrived! Here's a few updates on what's being planned & going on with the club:

Membership & Child/Youth Programming (Bunny/Jackrabbit Lessons)

  • Membership sign-up & Youth Programming registration are now available! Head over to our online registration at: https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=27184
  • Bunny/JackRabbit Programs are currently being planned to begin Sundays, December 12th & 19th, and then carry on after the holidays January to March.
  • If you're interested in ski lessons/ski development and are above the age of 9, we're happy to provide community coaching lessons & tips for members!
  • Have questions about our programming? Connect with one of our Coaching Leads: Derek (derekandjackie@gmail.com) or Shannon (skristinef@gmail.com), or send us a message on our Facebook Page
Special Events currently will continue to be held off, but if things change we'll be sure to let everyone know through our newsletters & Facebook page.

Rental Equipment
  • Youth equipment rentals for Bunny/JackRabbit participants will be available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis for registered participants. Connect with Brent & Carmen via email carmenblock@gmail.com with kid(s) height in centimeters & boot size.
  • General youth/adult rental equipment of boots, skis, & poles for daily/weekend use is available. The cost of a rental remains as a donation to the club, as we hope many people will try XC-Skiing this season and use the gear to access some beautiful winter trails in the area. For rentals, connect with Kim either through FB Message, or call her at 780-623-4894.
Groomed Trails in the Area

  • In the upcoming season, groomed trails will be at the following location:
  • Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park
  • Beaver Lake Provincial Recreation Area - Group Use Area
  • Shaw Lake Day Use Area, Lakeland Provincial Park
  • Ongoing updates on conditions & what's available for groomed trails can be found on our Facebook Page.

We have Volunteer Opportunities!

  • Interested in becoming a Community Coaching Volunteer? Connect with Shannon (skristinef@gmail.com), who one of our coach leads, to find out how you can help coach youth development programs.
  • Lac La Biche Legion Supper Volunteers are needed as the club will receive an honorarium for assisting Legion Staff in setting up, serving, and cleaning up supper. Our next date to help is Friday, December 10th and we will have more into 2022. A handful of people are needed each date, starting at 5:00PM and wrapping up around 9:00PM. To be on our volunteer call list for this, connect with our Fundraiser Coordinator (Kim) either through FB Message, or call her at 780-623-4894.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help, as fundraising opportunities have been limited the past couple years.

Keep up to date on trails conditions, events, and more through our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LLBSkiClub
